Does anyone have any requests, ideas or suggestions of this community? There are a lot of people joined, but only a few that participate [Thanks guys!]...I'd like to know what to do to get more activity.
Is a certian type of format of interest, such as poetry form prompts...or things like that?
Right now I'm doing lots of different things to give a variety, but if a certian type is wanted I can focus on that.
Just let me know, now or any time you think of anything.
Thanks!

Jaunary 3 to January 10
Prompt Three: Write a Haiku about (belly) dance
For those who don't know what a haiku is here is a definition: Haiku is a 17-syllable verse form consisting of three metrical units of 5, 7, and 5 syllables. {My note: I have seen and have written ones that are 3, 5 and 3 syllables as well}

ETA: Please remember to respond to the prompt in a new entry [with the prompt number in there somewhere], that way everyone's work and contributions can be seen and not lost in all the comments and such. Thank you!

Perizada is faery-born and faery-bred dance dance with moonbeams on her head; sway and hip-toss spin and flow by the sand-ship or water's bow; skin milk-pale and eyes stone-dark, silk veils' bed, faery-born and faery-bred.

My dance name, Perizada, means 'faery born' or 'faery woman.' I think it's supposed to be Persian.

Dewy grass under foot and misty sky above bear little resemblance to the sun-swept sandscapes upon which Jessinia or Sadiya tread. Her world a swirl of green and copper, removed by sea and sand and time. But let the music rise, and Genevieve's soul joins her sisters in the dance.

*Note: Genevieve is one of the dance names I've considered adopting. It's a Celtic/Gaelic name meaning "white wave" and is the root of my real name.

Spanish fire, Spanish chance
Frozen in unearthly stance
Flying fast and breathing hard
Corset hide the muscles' card
Ace of diamonds, ace of hearts
Stone-cut rose and shivering lace darts.

Breathe.

Breathe.

breathe....

hi, i'm jessica. my dance name is Tarana. my favorite art form at the moment is body art. i took a break off of bellydancing to learn henna and i became addicted. now i am always hennaed up when i perform and i have henna booths at bellydance workshops. i'm hoping to eventually meet back with my first loves: oil pastels and charcoal pencils. i plan on experimenting with mixed media very soon. and i had a thought for the prompt so here i go:

prompt:drumbeats
poem: A night in Al-Mahala

It's been a long day of merriment and fun
drumbeats in the wind...
We've all partied long into the sun
drumbeats in the wind...
Darkness surrounds as my heart pounds
drumbeats in the wind...
With bonfires ablaze and dancers astray
drumbeats in the wind...
This is where I belong.

Hello, I'm Perizada (my dance name) and I joined this community since I like bellydance (obviously) and random bits of creativity. And it's a bellydance community that doesn't try to sell you eBay things every ten minutes.... >.> Just hoping to find some new views :) I've been dancing about one year now.
